The government pays — and you collect

Once the favourable resolution is approved, the Ukrainian government makes the payment: 3,000,000 UAH immediately and 150,000 UAH/month for 80 months. On each payment, LDV retains the 20% commission. The remaining 80% is yours.

Who is Legado de Valor for?

We CAN help you if...

Your family member died during military service in Ukraine (in combat, in captivity, or as a result of wounds). You are a spouse, son/daughter, father, mother or recognised dependant. You live in any country in the world.

This is NOT our service if...

The soldier is still alive (missing or prisoner without confirmation of death). The death is not related to military service. You are looking to locate a person who does not wish to be found.

🌍

We work in 3 languages

Spanish, English and Ukrainian. We assist families of foreign soldiers (Latin American, US and European volunteers) and Ukrainian soldiers with family abroad.

✈️

No travel to Ukraine

The entire process is managed remotely. The power of attorney can be arranged at the Ukrainian consulate in your country. We will never ask you to travel to Ukraine.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the whole process take?+
Between 6 and 18 months from filing the case to a favourable resolution, depending on the complexity and available documentation. LDV maintains active follow-up throughout.
What happens if the government rejects the claim?+
If the resolution is negative, LDV will analyse the reasons and, in many cases, file an appeal. If there is ultimately no favourable resolution, you owe nothing to LDV. The No win · No fee model protects the family at all times.
Can I claim if there are other family members who could also claim?+
Yes. If there are multiple beneficiaries, LDV coordinates the joint file to avoid duplicates and ensure each beneficiary receives their share. It is important to inform LDV of all potential beneficiaries from the start.
What if I do not have all the documents?+
You do not need all documents to start. LDV analyses which documents are missing and helps obtain them through official channels: military unit, Ukrainian civil registry, embassies, etc.
How is the commission charged?+
LDV retains 20% directly from each payment made by the Ukrainian government before transferring the remaining 80% to the family. If the government pays in instalments, LDV receives 20% of each instalment on the same date or within a maximum of 5 business days.
Is the money subject to tax?+
The 15M UAH compensation is tax-exempt in Ukraine. Tax obligations in the beneficiary's country of residence depend on each country's legislation — we recommend consulting a local tax adviser.
