What happens after submitting the Ukraine military compensation application

Submitting the file is not the end of the process. Next comes the official verification phase by Ukrainian authorities, which can include additional document requests, military queries, and documentary reviews.

Registration and acknowledgment of receipt

Once the application is submitted to the competent authority, an official case number is generated. This number is important: it allows tracking the case status and serves as the reference for all subsequent communications.

Acknowledgment of receipt does not mean the file has been approved — it only confirms it has entered the review system.

Authorities consult military records to confirm the soldier was actively assigned to a recognized unit, the death occurred in active service or qualifying circumstances, and no prior payment has been made for the same entitlement.

How is the outcome communicated to the family?
